Here’s a quick round up of books I’ve read recently. Although I don’t have much to say about them. It’s the end of the year, I think I will hit my goal of starting 100 books this year, but have quite a few DNFs this year. I will have more of a wrap up next week.
Mangos and Mistletoe by Adriana Herrera– This is super sexy story centered around two competitors of a holiday baking show. (Think Great British Bake Off). This was my first book by Herrera, I have at least one of her Dreamer series on my TBR I just haven’t read it yet. The story was okay for me, fluffy and as I said sexy. But it also felt like it was lacking development of one of the plot points that felt thrown in by no resolution. It’s a quick read and other readers may not latch on to the thing that I did and not mind that it didn’t get resolved.
The Wives by Tarryn Fisher– It’s been a while since I read anything by Fisher, but all the things I remember of the books I read (The Opportunist series) were here. Engaging and twisty in the best of ways. Not a romance. There really isn’t much else to say without spoiling any of it. But when you read it, PLEASE email/DM me when you are finished reading so we can talk about it.
In Rhythm by JN Welsh– The characters are DJs and that was interesting but they felt young to me. The first 20% felt slow and wasn’t capturing me. Definitely a case of me and not the book but I DNF this. I think that readers who are in to the world of EDM/DJ would probably really enjoy this book.
I also read Mermaid Inn by Jenny Holiday (1/28/20) and The Boyfriend Project by Farrah Rochon (6/9/20). Both were solid reads and I will have reviews as it gets closer to their release dates.
