This is not an original idea – I’ve seen several people post this including my friend Ели aka @e_savova. Also my friend Thien-Kim (@msthienkim) usually asks this in her Bawdy Bookworms group. But we’d love to hear what you are reading!
I’m re-reading Paradise Cove by Jenny Holiday. I loved it the first time around. It is a heavy book with themes of grief and sadness. I love grief books though. It is also VERY sexy.
Tell us in the comments what you’re reading!

I have been having such trouble lately finding a book that I really love reading. I even DNF’d a book last week at 80% because it was just so meh.
Yesterday I started reading The Magnolia Sword: A Ballad of Mulan by Sherry Thomas. It hasn’t really grabbed me yet, but I am hopeful.
Jenny Holiday’s books always make me feel homesick for Canada, because I grew up in the area she writes about. Paradise Cove is on my TBR, but I don’t think I can read it right now because it would make me miss my family to much. :-( (For those who don’t know, the border between the US and Canada is closed right now, and will be for the foreseeable future.)

I have DNFed more books this year and than I have ever before.

I read all five books in the Taking Shield series by Anna Butler over the course of a few days. I’d describe it as military science fiction with a side of male/male romance and I recommend it. The first book in the series, Gyrfalcon, is FREE for Kindle readers ~ https://www.amazon.com/Gyrfalcon-Taking-Shield-Book-1-ebook/dp/B01MYVW9H6/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=gyrfalcon+butler&qid=1600878987&sr=8-1
I also enjoyed Into Deep Waters by Kaje Harper, a male/male romance that spans some sixty years after two sailors meet during WW2. It’s also FREE for Kindle readers ~

I’m having a hard time finding anything that makes me happy right now. I’m reading Riley Thorn by Lucy Score, but I can’t seem to take the time to sit and enjoy it. I think I’ll go back and reread some old favorites after this. Something by Kleypas or Shalvis.
Angela says
I have this one on my TBR, I think I downloaded it from KU. The blurb sounded cute, I have no idea when I’ll have the time to read it though.
I do find that when I’m in a slump I always go back to my tried and true favorites for a bit.

I’ve almost finished Rachel Reid’s COMMON GOAL and am loving it! I’m always halfway through Ainsley Booth’s FILTHY LIAR, the fifth and final of her Forbidden Bodyguards series, which (as Booth notes in her foreword) might be a touch too topical: when she started the series in 2014, the idea that we would elect a corrupt, mobbed-up president seemed unbelievable. Also, there’s been a villain in the books who grooms young girls to be used sexually to “reward” and blackmail political figures—which in the era of Jeffrey Epstein seems too in the nose, but perhaps not six years ago. It’s a shame, because the series has been good, but I think FILTHY LIAR is probably the wrong book for these times. I will try to finish it though because I’m a completist at heart.

I have this Rachel Reid series on my TBR, now to find the time to actaully read it.

I’d love to what others are reading because I’m in a slump too.
I just finished J. Keyes (aka Julianna Keyes) All the Missing Pieces. I liked it because it was different (sexy mystery thriller) than her usual romance books.
I also read Juliette Cross’s Don’t Hex and Drive. I really liked it a lot. I loved her first book in the “Stay a Spell” series, Wolf Gone Wild too. I’d recommend both for anyone to try it out.
I started Ann Aguirre’s Strange Love but I haven’t been too motivated to finish it yet. I’m hoping that changes as I get farther into it.
Angela says
Wait… Julianna Keyes released a thriller? How did I not know this?

For book club I’m reading Whiskey & Ribbons by Leesa Cross-Smith. I’m loving the story and the fact that it’s told from three different perspectives. On my kindle I’m reading My Heart’s True Delight by Grace Burrowes. All of her books are such a comfort read for me.
Angela says
*adds more books to TBR.
Thank you for the recs!

@J: I did not know Julianna Keyes (one of my favorite romance writers—TIME SERVED is in my pantheon of comfort re-reads) had written a thriller. Thanks for the tip. Onto the tbr it goes!

I am reading Tools of Engagement by Tessa Bailey. I like it so far. It’s been hard finding great books lately so I’ve been going back and reading old favorites.
Angela says
I have the ARC for this, but I haven’t gotten to it yet. Hopefully it works for you!

I just finished reading the last Veronica Speedwell, and I’m legit soo sad lol. March isn’t that far away, but I feel as if a very dear friend moved away or something…
I picked up a shifter novella by Eve Langlais. Not awful, but it won’t make me forget about Veronica and Stoker.
Angela says
I am deeply in love with both Veronica and Stoker. LOL.
