STEADFAST is my favorite of Bowen’s True North series. However, it is rather downbeat and melancholy (there’s a family death in the past, plus both MCs have abuse in their childhoods), but it is a beautiful and tender love story. Highly recommended—and the price is right!
Just a warning about “Smokey”. When the blurb says Smokey hurts Ava, they ain’t kidding! IMO, what happens is unforgivable, and even if I wanted to root for their happy ending, there wasn’t nearly enough grovelling to make up for what he did to her.
