I hope you all had a fabulous holiday and are ready for 2023. My daughter is home from college for the break and is inviting over several friends for a sleepover on New Year’s Eve. I’m happy about that…it’s nice to know that she and her friends are safe and not out on the roads. Should be a good night!
Now…here we are, the last TikTok post of 2022. The theme is love. Let’s end the year on romance.
#5 I’d like a book with this trope, please. Swooning…
#4 This gift is absolutely an example of true love.
#3 A risky trip for romance.
#2 Total romance book behavior here, ladies.
#1 And…these BFFs crack me up. Am I feeling in love? No. In laughter? Yessss!
I’m closing out the year listening to the thriller, A Familiar Stranger by A.R. Torres. It’s excellent!! And I’m reading the VERY smutty, delicious novella, Tangled in Tinsel by Trilina Pucci. What was your favorite book of the year? Or, if it’s tough to narrow down…name three.
Happy New Year! Here’s to an amazing 2023!

I don’t have a favorite book of the year, but I can say that I’m enjoying A Strange and Stubborn Endurance by Foz Meadows which I’m currently reading.

The first Tik-Tok reminded me of a quote from a photographer whose work is used on a lot of romance novels. He said he’s definitely witnessed situations where models show up for a shoot as complete strangers and, after spending the session getting up close & personal, leave the shoot together. Now THAT’S the opening premise for a great romance novel!
As for favorite books read in 2022, I have about 20 favorite reads this year, a combination of books published in 2022 and books published in a prior year that I first read in 2022, but my top four would be: THE LONG GAME by Rachel Reid, PEN PAL by J.T. Geissinger, THE LONE WOLF’S REJECTED MATE (just finished this week, soooo good!) by Cate C. Wells, and BASS-ACKWARDS (published in 2019) by Eris Adderly.

I just added some of these books. I read the first book in that Cate C. Wells series, but didn’t get to book 2 or 3. I think I’ll just skip to 3, it looks great!

As I mentioned in another thread, my favorite book was Witness for the Dead by Katherine Addison (which I just discovered has another book following it, so I’ll be reading that soon), but I also enjoyed Nettle & Bone by T. Kingfisher and I did a lot of re-reading this year – Lisa Kleypas, Patricia Briggs, Ilona Andrews. I hope next year to read more new-to-me books.
Thanks for the Tik Toks!
