Reading has been hit or miss lately and honestly it has been hard to really get lost in books. Although I was able to finish all these books it is possible that any lack of enjoyment of them is reflective of the world at large and not the book. Dear Enemy by Kristen Callihan- Delilah and Macon didn’t get along when they were children. One could even say that he bullied her and she responded in kind. The flashbacks of them as kids and antagonizing each other were at times hard to read. They Continue Reading
Guest Post: Introduction to Faerie world by M.A. Grant
It’s a pleasure to visit Smexy Books to discuss the world of THE DARKEST COURT series, where three Unseelie princes attempt to win an apocalyptic Faerie civil war. One of my great joys while writing the series was reinterpreting legends of the fae and creating something new from my favorite stories. Each book focuses on one of the three main factions of the Faerie world: UNSEELIE COURT The Unseelie, or Winter Court, open the series in THE PRINCE OF AIR AND DARKNESS. The old stories Continue Reading
Smexy Deals!
The New York Times bestselling author of The Wedding Date serves up a novel about what happens when a public proposal doesn't turn into a happy ending, thanks to a woman who knows exactly how to make one on her own... When someone asks you to spend your life with him, it shouldn't come as a surprise—or happen in front of 45,000 people. When freelance writer Nikole Paterson goes to a Dodgers game with her actor boyfriend, his man bun, and his bros, the last thing she expects is a scoreboard Continue Reading
Angela’s Minis- Fantasy/PNR Reviews for books by Shelly Laurenston, Sierra Dean, and MaryJanice Davidson
Badger to the Bone by Shelly LaurenstonHoney Badger Chronicles #3PNRMarch 31, 2020 by KensingtonARC I'm still surprised when I find readers who love PNR, but still haven't picked up a Shelly Laurenston book. I mean if you love zany, laugh out loud humor and a crazy good time, this is the author for you. I won't even get into the plot but suffice it to say it's full of ups and downs and wild and crazy characters. This is Max's story and it begins when she rushes headlong into her own Continue Reading
Smexy’s Top Ten 3/27/2020
Today's Top Ten will be a mix of things I spied across the web that will help make your stay at home/quarantine/social distancing easier and stuff that just made me smile. 10. Have y'all met Dr. Elvis Francois? He's an orthopedic surgery Resident at Mayo Clinic and he loves to lift people's spirits with his music. (He really should be at #1, but I thought I'd start out with bang today.) 9. Have you ever wanted to work out with Chris Hemsworth? (Or see Chris Hemsworth work out?) Now is Continue Reading
Dream Maker by Kristen Ashley
Dream Maker doesn't release until May 26, but I wanted to share this review early so you know what decision to make :) I am not expert in Kristen Ashley’s books, but I have read over 30 of them. For me, Ashley is at her best when she doesn't go too far off course from her typical formula (damsel in distress/women in peril + alphahole + over the top drama + interesting cast of characters + overly long descriptions and conversations). I found that Dream Maker didn’t stray too far from Continue Reading

Guest Post: Difficult People by Julianna Keyes
Julianna is here today to talk about Difficult People. Her newest novel, Bench Player, is out on March 30. I've already read and I can confirm, the heroine and hero are both difficult, but in the best of ways. People say I’m difficult, and sometimes that’s a badge of honor. – Bill Murray I like difficult people. Maybe not so much in real life, but in books? Yeah, I love ’em. Give me your prickly, your sarcastic, your snarky, your flawed. I want ’em all. And the reason I want them is Continue Reading
Angela’s Minis- Reviews for books by Christina Lauren and Julianna Keyes
The Honey Don't List by Christina LaurenContemporary RomanceMarch 24, 2020 by Gallery BooksARC Christina Lauren is one of those author duos that I keep on my auto buy list even though their books have gradually moved toward more semi-closed door romance and womens fiction rather than the hotter than hell romances I remember back in the day when they first started publishing together. I miss those down and dirty, filthy love scenes. The Honey Don't List starts out in a way that completely Continue Reading
