I wasn't' a big Christina Lauren fan until THIS BOOK. OMG. Hanna and Will are so dirty, and sweet, and just OMG everything. I loved the way Will fell for Hanna and was just gone for her. I've wanted to do a Scenic Sunday for this book for a while, but my favorite scene is totally NSFW. I miss when this author duo wrote filthy love scenes because they were so fabulous. Anyway, this is the scene right after Hanna and Will have sex at Hanna's parent's house and almost get caught. "Oh, God," she Continue Reading

Melinda’s Mini Reviews: No Strings by Lucy Bexley & the Roxane Weary series by Kristen Lepionka
No Strings by Lucy BexleyLGBTQ Contemporary RomanceJan 11, 2022Purchased Review by Melinda No Strings by Lucy Bexley is genuinely one of the most charming and surprising books I’ve read! The cover may be one of the worst I’ve ever seen so I would never have picked it up without a friend telling me it was 5 stars for her. Elsie is a puppeteer on a kid's TV show that she basically created…but gets next to no credit OR money for. And when the head of the company dies, his daughter Jones Continue Reading
Angela’s Minis- Juniper & Thorn by Ava Reid and A Mirror Mended by Alix E Harrow
Juniper & Thorn by Ava ReidFantasy Horror/ RetellingJune 21, 2022 by Harper VoyagerARC I discovered this author when I read her The Wolf and the Woodsman last year. Her sophomore release, Juniper & Thorn is a retelling of one of Grimm's darker fairytales, The Juniper Tree. Readers meet Marlinchen, the youngest daughter of the last great wizard Zmiy Vashchenko. Tucked into their home, while the city of Oblya grows and changes around them, the three Vashchenko witches take on Continue Reading
Review: My Killer Vacation by Tessa Bailey
My Killer Vacation by Tessa BaileyContemporary RomanceJune 6, 2022Self-Published Review by Iby I am admittedly a Tessa Bailey fan, especially her newer works. I love the banter and the steam - she has great dynamics between her main characters, and her books tend to be lighthearted and eminently enjoyable. When she said she was writing a murder mystery romance, I knew that I’d be all-in. The set-up: Careful, cautious second-grade teacher Taylor has saved for years to take a vacation in Continue Reading

Scenic Sunday: Written On His Skin by Simone Stark
I read this perfect little novella when it first came out in 2017 and I've read it multiple times since then. It's a quick little read, about120 pages in all, and every word of this tightly written book is perfect. Simone Stark really delivered the ultimate novella on her very first try and I hope she knows just how many people love this sweet. sexy story. Usually, when I do Scenic Sunday posts, I pick a book and I already know which scene I'm going to focus on. For this one though, I found Continue Reading

Review: The Perfect Crimes of Marian Hayes by Cat Sebastian
The Perfect Crimes of Marian Hayes by Cat SebastianHistorical RomancePublished June 7, 2022 by AvonReviewed by Kate I had some trouble getting through The Perfect Crimes of Marian Hayes. While I enjoyed it overall, the story struggled with pacing issues. The correspondence between Marian and Rob in the beginning of the book drew me in. However, when it moved on to the action, it started with a bang, but then kind of meandered all the way to the end. The story feels somewhat disjointed and Continue Reading
