Review: Stepbrother Master by Ava Jackson

April 15, 2015 by Mandi 2 Comments

Stepbrother Master by Ava Jackson Released: March 25, 2015 Erotic Romance Self Published Reviewed by Mandi Off the top of my head, I think this is the first "Stepbrother" romance I have read. I honestly thought it would be more taboo-feeling than it turned out to be. Emma's mom is on marriage four and has found the new love of her life on a Montana Ranch. Emma flies out for the wedding, to meet her new stepfather and stepbrother for the first time. Ford works on the ranch for his father Continue Reading

Wicked Wednesday: Step-Sibling Romance

April 15, 2015 by Mandi 9 Comments

A new feature at Smexy Books! Each hump day we will discuss an erotic topic, or a particular scene from a book and then later in the day we will review an erotic book. I can't guarantee the book we review will be a recommendation (for example, the book reviewed later today is not getting a good grade) but maybe readers can chime in with recommendations. This is our Wednesday plan. If anyone wants a particular erotic book or topic discussed, shoot Mandi an email. (mandi @ smexybooks.com). Continue Reading

Review: Misfits by Garrett Leigh

March 18, 2015 by Mandi 2 Comments

Misfits by Garrett Leigh Released: March 16, 2015 M/M/M Romance Riptide Reviewed by Mandi I haven't read a good male/male and oh yeah - one more male book in a while. I like this author's voice - there is a decent amount of sex and it kind of follows the predictable pattern of two of the guys hitting it off, then the third guy comes in, and then all three have hot sex. But there is more than sex to this story and I believed in the three-way HEA at the end. Tom and Cass (psst - Cass Continue Reading

Review: Personal Geography and Intimate Geography by Tamsen Parker

March 11, 2015 by Mandi 3 Comments

Personal Geography (The Compass #1) Released: 12/1/2014 Erotic BDSM Self Published Reviewed by Mandi Powerhouse consultant India Burke is notorious for her razor-sharp mind, her incisive tongue, and for always being in control. But during her “lost weekends”—out-of-town, one-and-done, anonymous rendezvous solely for the purpose of kinky sex—she craves a submissive role. Cris Ardmore, India’s latest tryst, is a Dominant who calls an isolated Hawaiian paradise home. India’s expecting Continue Reading

Review: The List by Anne Calhoun

March 4, 2015 by Mandi 2 Comments

The List by Anne Calhoun Released: March 3, 2015 Erotic Romance Berkley Reviewed by Mandi Anne Calhoun gives us a more serious and somber erotic story of two people working their way through the first year of their relationship. From meeting, to having sex, to marriage and then divorce, Daniel and Tilda have quite the journey this first year. Daniel is a FBI agent in NYC who investigates white-collar crime. He meets Tilda one night at a mutual friend's house. Tilda is from England but Continue Reading

Review: Driven by Fate by Tessa Bailey

February 19, 2015 by Sheena 11 Comments

Driven by Fate by Tessa Bailey (Serve #5) Erotic Romance/Light BDSM Entangled Brazen Released: February 16, 2015 Reviewed by Sheena Favorite Quote:  She’d worn Converse and ripped jeans to a BDSM club. Was she serious?  Tessa Bailey is trolling the shit out of me.  That is  the only way this author can be so damn erotically hypnotic and good at these books. In the fifth installment of the Serve series, we meet our most explosive couple yet.  First, the cover is gorgeous! Loved it. Continue Reading

Review: Guilty Pleasures and The Pleasure Principle by Jane O’Reilly

February 12, 2015 by Mandi Leave a Comment

Jane O'Reilly writes very erotic novellas, and she often times reminds me of Charlotte Stein. I think if she had longer to tell her story, I would really fall for her voice (I think both of these stories are less than 100 pages). The sex is hot, yet I need a little more time to really engage with her characters. If you are looking for quick, very steamy reads, she might just be the author for you. The following two novellas can be read as standalones. My favorite of hers is Continue Reading

Rebel (Dead Man’s Ink # 1) by Callie Hart

February 11, 2015 by Sheena 9 Comments

Rebel (Dead Man's Ink # 1) by Callie Hart Released: February 9, 2015 Dark Erotic Romance Suspense Self- Published Reviewed by Sheena Favorite Quote: "Don't bother trying to get inside my head, sugar.  It's a dark and fucking scary place.  Even I don't want to be here most of the time.  You change your mind about the sex, though, and we can talk." Callie Hart is a force of nature and  in this genre I like to call dark erotic suspense, she simply slays. I've read all of the Blood Continue Reading

A Dangerous Reality (The Bent Zealots #1 ) by Layla Wolfe

February 11, 2015 by Sheena 2 Comments

A Dangerous Reality (The Bent Zealots #1 ) by Layla Wolfe Released: January 11, 2015 M/M Motorcycle Club Romance Quicksilver books Reviewed by Sheena Favorite Quote: "Better than a sex cake or a hallelujah or a chick who says yes too soon?"  "I was gonna say, 'better than having a boyfriend, but yeah, I'll take those other things, too."  "Except maybe the girl." "Yeah," he agreed amiably.  "Forget the girl." Two men, Motorcycle club (MC) members are powerless to fight their affection Continue Reading

Review: Risking It All by Tessa Bailey

January 30, 2015 by Mandi 4 Comments

Risking It All by Tessa Bailey (Crossing the Line #1) Contemporary Romance Released: January 27, 2015 Entangled Reviewed by Mandi I was really happy to see that this book is a full length, unlike the category length this author sometimes publishes. We get to spend more time with the hero and heroine and really learn their story. And what a fun story it is. Sera Newsome was a nurse but after her police officer brother was murdered in south Brooklyn, she became a cop in his honor. She Continue Reading
