It's that time of year again - the time I look back on the books I've read this year and think about all that smex. The dirty, passionate, sometimes kinky smex that all of these heroes and heroines have been participating in. I know there is much anticipation to see who will be crowned Cock Champion this year. Last year we had a tie, with both Kit Rocha and Alisha Rai using the word 'cock' 84 times in their books. Will there be a repeat champion, or will another out-cock them? Mandi’s Favorite Books of 2015
I read 222 books this year, which is low for me, but I overall I had a pretty good year. Thirteen absolute favorites - four of which are paranormal, two m/m, and one that doesn't have a happily ever after (don't freak out!). Here they are in no particular order: Hold Me Close by Megan Hart - Dark, erotic, sometimes horrifying, sometimes uplifting. From my review: Megan Hart doesn’t make it easy – sometimes it’s horrifying. Sometimes it’s really sad. I’m not sure I smiled, but I was Continue Reading
Sheena’s Top Books of 2015
I read some pretty bad books this year. I have never had so many DNF's as I tend to try to hang in there until my disdain begins to manifest in more physiological ways that could affect my overall sanity. Needless to say, I'm the girl who tries to see the good in any book that I take on and even I had an inkling to petition for a 2015 Top Flops list! But then, something miraculous happened. Thoughts of the really good books I did come across this year took over and I was suddenly able to Continue Reading
Helyce’s Favorite Reads of 2015
Helyce’s Favorite Reads of 2015 2015 was a bit of a hit and miss year for me reading wise. I read the least amount of books when compared to previous years and though I hate to do so, I had more DNFs than ever before. On a positive note, I did read several new to me authors whose books made such an impression that they’ve made my list below. In no particular order, here we go: Vespertine by Leta Blake and Indra Vaughn: This M/M romance took me by surprise. New to me authors, Continue Reading
May’s Top Books of 2015
This was, in general, a terrible book year. I had a record number DNF, WTF, and generally horrendously bad books. From creepy ‘like a father to her’ relationship dynamic to books that were completely unoriginal and everything in between – it was gnarly going out there. So much swinging and missing! The level of “ok I guess” C rated books was also record high for me, and this just really bums me out! Ah, but then I went sifting through the shelves and was pleasantly surprised to find that I Continue Reading
Tori’s Top Books for 2015
2015 was a strange year both personally and professionally. So many good books were published but not a lot wowed me. I know what you’re thinking- ”Dude, you have 24 books listed.” This is true. But I read over 300 new to me books this year, so this doesn’t even represent 10% of what I have read. MATH FTW!! Plus, it’s hard for me to pick. Unless I DNF, there is some aspect I enjoy about every book I read from the ‘wow this is fantastic’ 5 star reads to the ‘what the fresh hell was THAT’ 1 star Continue Reading
