Tori: June is a month of awesomeness. Not only it the month I was married in, the month I was born in, and the month my kid was born in , but it is also the beginning of summer and some majorly anticipated releases. Woo!Hoo! Free Kindle l Nook I think in triangles. You think in straight lines. I show you a table and make you believe it’s a chair. Smoke and mirrors, sleight of hand, misdirection. I trick and deceive. But most of all, I put on a good show. The world thinks I killed a man, but I didn’t. Bear with me. It’s all a part of the plan. Revenge is what I want. I want it for me and I want it for her. I want it for all six of us. She doesn’t remember me, but she’s the reason for Continue Reading
May’s Favorite Books of 2013
I read a lot of good books this year especially urban fantasy and contemporary romance. I am, in fact, over the moon happy that fun romantic contemporary romances are back. I am also sad that historical romances, for the most part, are disappointing right now with very few exceptions. Two books that are intentionally absent that were originally in consideration for this list that I do want to mention are The Last Hour of Gann (yeah fascinating, but it just wasn’t awesome for me) and also, Continue Reading
Tori’s Favorite Books of 2013
2013 ran the literary gauntlet from incredible never to be forgotten stories to crap I wouldn’t line my rabbit cage with. We saw the rise of emotionally angsty New Adult, erotic moody billionaire alpha hole trilogies, and intense “omg they di’nt” biker MC romances. Self publishing began to lose it’s stigma and take a larger share of the market while also contributing to the rash of plagiarism that flooded the internet. It was a crazy wild year for publishing. Below is a list of what rocked my Continue Reading

Authors, Please Share Your Intentions
What are your intentions? By May. Recently I read a short story that I quite enjoyed, and when I went to the author’s website to find out if there would be more (it was an Urban Fantasy type world), what her plans were, and if I could expect another installment soon I found nothing. No information at all other than the fact that the book in my hands was coming out. This got me thinking (and ranting to fellow Smexy reviewer Tori) about author intentions and I wanted to write up my thoughts on Continue Reading

Oh how to choose the best books I read this year? I’ve decided to get tough, and I am sharing with you today only twelve books I adored in 2012. These are personal favorites, those that stood out above the crowd. I’m sorry to say some favorite authors of mine didn’t make the list this year (better luck next year, ladies!) and yes, many of my favorites you’re likely to see on other smexy lists this year. Without further ado, here are twelve books I give my hearty stamp of approval and highest Continue Reading
