Mandi Reads and Obsesses over Undeniable by Madeline Sheehan
Smexy’s Top Ten
News From Mandi: I started Against the Ropes by Sarah Castille but didn’t finish it. I didn’t hate it or anything it just didn’t keep my interest. I don’t really have much more to say about it.
A Man Like Him by Rachel Brimble started really strong with a massive flood and two people coming together to save others. But then it turned into a romantic suspense as the heroine’s ex-husband who is out of prison after abusing her tracks her down. No time for romance to develop as all the focus was on the suspense. Review coming soon.
No Romance Required by Cari Quinn was an okay read. I didn’t love the set-up – fake girlfriend and hero had to have a girlfriend in order to keep working at his company – but once I got past the set-up the romance was hot and they had nice chemistry. Review coming soon.
I blogged about Undeniable by Madeline Sheehan this week. The next day I read book two, Unbeautifully and I liked it even more. I’m quite obsessed with these characters and this series now. I NEED book three. I’m DYING for book four. It’s officially my crack *wink*
I’ve just started All of You by Christina Lee. I like the set-up – heroine is a promiscous college girl sleeping with boys every night – and hero is a tattoo artist who is a virgin! Well hello there! I’ll report back.
News from Tori: It’s been a long arse week. Sinuses going haywire leaving me tired and crabby. Most of my week has been re reads. I have been incredibly lazy. I needed pepping up so I re read Shelly Laurenston’s Pride series. If you haven’t read this series then you are definitely missing out. Eight books total…that took up a bit of my time.
Mandi started reading Madeline Sheehan’s Undeniable series (finally). When she got to book to, Unbeautifully, I decided to re read with her. I didn’t like it the first time I read it. I think because I had read about 5 MC books in a row and I was burned out. On my re read, I rediscovered it’s appealing trainwreck crankiness and am ready for book three. YAY! (Mandi sneaks in to say – YAY too! LOL)
Another cracky MC biker series is Crystal Spear’s Breakneck series. Withstanding Me is ZZ’s story. While I found this one much tamer than book one, I enjoyed it more. It was silly at times and emotionally immature, I enjoyed watching the romance between Storm and ZZ. A quick read that doesn’t require any heavy commitment.
Jayna Vixen’s Leather And Sand was a disappointment. While I enjoyed seeing Dax and Rina’s reunion, I found the book was a pale imitation to the craziness of book one. So many opportunities for shock and awe to occur and yet every path was systemically shut down and brushed aside. :(
Restricted Release by Sommer Marsden is a sweet and emotional erotic romance between a beta hero and an abused woman. Very well done and some uber hot scenes. Review will appear in December issue of RT Magazine.
Portrait Of Passion by Lynne Barron is a seductively dark and passionate historical romance that centers around a proper Viscount and a mysterious lady whose secrets his family and his heart. Lush poise and dramatic characterization made this romance a treat to read.
Thea Harrison’s Kinked, number six in her Elder Races series, is an action packed, funny, and surprisingly “kinky” read. Aryal, the smart mouth harpy sentinel has met her match in the Tower’s newest sentinel recruit, Quentin. When they are forced into spending time together, Aryal and Quentin find that their animosity towards each other masks a passion that calls to the predator deep within them.
This weekend I will be finishing up some review books and watching the season premiere of Legend of Korra. wOOt!

Good book week! Love that!
