Danger and Desire: Author Sexcerpts!
New from Mandi: I thoroughly enjoyed Riding Dirty by Jill Sorenson. It’s a gritty, dark motorcycle club book that deals with the hero just getting out of prison, and a heroine who is his psychologist and also in the witness protection program. I think you guys are going to like this one. Review coming closer to release date.
Too Friendly to Date by Nicole Helm is also really cute. It’s a friends to lovers story – the heroine is an electrician who as a teenager had a heart transplant. She also deals with severe asthma and allergies – but she is tough and doesn’t want anyone to take pity on her. The hero is her co-worker and such a nice guy. He has to become her fake boyfriend over the holidays. The banter in this one is done really well. Review coming.
I also read Private Politics, and reviewed it above.
Up next for me is Rules for a Proper Governess by Jennifer Ashley
News From Tori: Gray Bishop by Kelly Meade is the second book in her newest PNR trilogy, CornerStone Run, and offers just as much action, suspense, and romance as book one. Arc advancement is at a premium though I felt the romance took precedence in here. Review to come.
B.N. Toler’s Wrecking Ballwas brilliant. A second chance romance between a couple whose 10 year marriage falls into trouble and the journey they take to discover if they can forgive one another and move on. An emotionally and humorously plum novel that address infidelity and the problems that erupt when you stop communicating with your partner. A lovely thread a realism keeps it from being too melodramatic. Have some kleenex handy, you’ll need it.
Offside by Shay Savageis a mature high school YA that publicly acknowledges it borrows from Twilight. Regardless, Savage pens a sexy, humorous, bittersweet first time love story between a conceited star athlete and a new student who isn’t impressed with his charms. Though a bit long winded at times, the story is engaging and entertaining. Review to come.
Festive in Death by JD Robb proves that even though this is the 39th installment, Ms. Roberts still has the know how to keep a reader entertained. Fast pacing, an intriguing mystery, and some serious character development reminded me why I adore La Nora.
This weekend I am reading Sweetwater by Lisa Henry.
