Smexy’s Top Ten
News from Mandi: Loved Master of Crows by Grace Draven. Great fantasy read – a very sexy romance. A very fun and sometimes scary plot. Great characters. I really can’t recommend this one enough. The beginning is a little confusing but stick with it. I’ll be reviewing it at Smexy soon.
Starstruck by LA Witt is a cute m/m about two actors who fall in love. One is deeply in the closet. It takes a looooong time for them to finally get together. The declaration of love at the end made me smile. Review coming soon.
Intrusion by Charlotte Stein gave me my dose of awkward erotic romance I needed. I love some awkward Stein romance. This is a darker one as the hero has some issues. I didn’t like the events at the end – too dramatic and felt forced. Otherwise I liked it. Review to come.
Rogue Spy by Joanna Bourne was absolutely fabulous. I LOVE THIS SERIES. Forbidden Rose, Black Hawk, Rogue Spy. These three. Read them. Do it. I MEAN IT.
I DNF’d The Vixen and the Vet. Blurb sold me but the story didn’t.
News From Tori: The Final Tales from the Asylum (parts 1,2,3) by Jocelynn Drake are 3 novellas that take us back into the wonderfully gritty and dark world of warlock Gage Powell and answers some much needed questions left over from book 2-Dead Man’s Deal. Brimming with action, suspense, and violence, the novellas are a must fan for fans of this series but most, such as myself, will be put out by the ending. Review to come.
Getting Lucky by Katie Graykowski is the second book in her romantic contemporary series-The Marilyns. A sweet funny story about a woman whose husband introduces his mistress and 3 kids to his wife on TV. Plenty of laughter and heartbreak makes for a fast read. My only qualms was I wanted to see the heroine express her anger/grief at whole situation she is literally forced into.
Tempting the Player by Kat Latham is a super cute and sexy British contemporary romance between struggling rugby player and his best friend. Mild on the angst but heavy on the humor and sexual tension makes this another winner for Latham. Review to come.
Tainted Blood by M.L. Brennan takes us back to the world of baby vamp Fortitude and his scary family. With his brother occupied, Fort is forced to immerse himself deeper into the family business. Fort tries but his need to retain his humanity bodes ill for his rapid transition. Review to come.
The Secrets of Sir Richard Kenworthy by Julia Quinn. The Smythe-Smiths are back in Iris’s story of love and secrets. Though your heart will hurt for Iris as she finds out exactly why her husband wanted to marry her, her quick wit and dry humor paves the way for an enjoyable read. My only qualm is I never really felt the hero developed beyond the initial impression. He remained elusive to the very end. Review to come.
Wild For Him by Jill Sorenson is a steamy sequel novella to Wild. A predictable plot proves unpredictably engaging and sexy as one man finds what he needs has been in front of him the whole time. Review to come.
I also did some re reads this week. A lot of re reads.
Lani Lynn Vale is on my author crack list. I can read/re read her books in a span of hours and be entertained every single time. Her Freebird and MC series are delightfully raunchy, outrageous, and funny as hell with uber alpha men and sarcastic, sexually comfortable, take no crap women.
This week I re read Vale’s Texas Tornado (Freebirds, #5) and Halligan to my Axe (Heroes of the Dixie Wardens MC, #1). Funny funny stuff peoples.
Of course, when I get in a crack mood, I turn to Jamie Begley and usually re read her Last Riders MC series. Cash’s story (Cash’s Fight) remains my favorite though Viper’s Run and Knox’s Stand are close behind it. King (VIP, #3) interacts with the Last Riders so I’ll re read that one too. :P
This weekend I’m reading Wild by Sophie Jordon-an NA with an older heroine/younger hero. I enjoy her historicals so curious to see how much I like her contemps. Also up in queue is Vincent by D.B. Reynolds. HOT VAMPS FOR THE WIN!!

Tori, I re-read Begley ALL the time. Like. All the time.
Tori says
Heh. They are so cracky.

It has been awhile but I love a re read. Plan on re reading War of the Oaks and maybe, a strong maybe, Flowers from the Storm.
I am reading and enjoying Exposed by Fate. Just read Dancing with Mistletoe. I’m not sure what to think of that series as I seem to be more curious and become more agitated than the heroine. At the same time I’m glad she is not over dramatic.
When done with Exposed plan to jump right into Wild Fire by Edie Harris. I did not know about this sequel novella so very happy surprise for me.

Hmm, sounds like I need to try the Rogue Spy series and Master of Crows.
I just read the first three of the Fighting series by JB Salsbury. Saw that bundle for .99 and thought why not. Best decision this week! Wow, all three were good, good, good!
