August Mini Reviews
Cover Reveal: The Goal by Elle Kennedy
News from Tori: It’s already promising to be another scorcher this weekend but on a bright note, after 15 years, I finally get my new flooring.
Winner Takes All by Erin Kern-A promising looking sports romance that failed to deliver on all counts. The inspirational tone, repetitive narrative, dragging storyline, and “Lady Bountiful” attitude of the heroine was not at all what I was expecting and was left very disappointed. Review to come.
First Star I See Tonight by Susan Elizabeth Phillips-Fear no more, SEP fans! Phillip’s has found her groove and executes a brilliant comeback with 8th installment in her Chicago Stars series. A funny, charming, utterly delightful romance contemporary that will hook you from page one. Review to come.
Unraveled by Jennifer Estep-Even though this series is on it’s 15th installment, it’s still continues to engage and entertain with a familiar cast of characters and a new storyline that offers readers even more clues as Estep leads us towards the series finale. Review to come.
Anything By Minor by Kate Stewart was rec’d to me by a fellow reviewer and I’m so glad I listened. If nerdy heroines determined to experience everything life has to offer and sexy baseball players determined to get said heroine into their bed are your catnip, then run don’t walk and pick this book up. Overflowing with humor, outrageous dialogue, and some delightfully swoony scenes, Stewart builds a romance that IS anything but minor. Review to come.
The Sheik’s Jealous Princess by Elizabeth Lennox-I’ll admit I pick this one up completely based on the title. A predictable romance reminiscent of the older Harlequin/Mills & Boon serials featuring an uber alpha hero and an intelligent but easily manipulated heroine whom he forces into marriage then slowly falls in love with. Of course, heroine must fight for her place in his life and home and with that comes the conflict. A fast, easy read that requires nothing from the reader but the ability to turn a page.
This weekend I am reading J.D. Robb’s Apprentice in Death and hopefully Jodi Thomas’s Sunrise Crossing.
