I hope everyone had a nice long holiday weekend and enjoyed their short work week. It’s been a LONG time since I’ve done a TikTok post. My summer got busy, my daughter is home from college, we got a new dog, yada…yada… Now I’m back. :). I’m almost done with Glow by Raven Kennedy. It’s book four in the Plated Prisoner series and it’s VERY SPICY. I’m also listening to a terrific murder mystery. I highly recommend The Patient’s Secret by Loreth Anne White!!
#5 It’s been quite the few weeks here in the US. I’m filing this TikTok away for later. You never know…
#4 Show of hands, who wants to be called “good girl” in IRL by their significant other? Anyone?
#3 This just sounds exhausting.
#2 True story, my daughter does this, too. Read to the bottom to see what she named me.
#1 Our new dog’s name is Foxy. I’ve been calling her Foxy Cleopatra. Yeah Baby!!!
What’s on your summer reading list? Are you loving anything, looking forward to a new release? I’m excited for Kingdom of the Feared by Kerri Maniscalco and The Dark King by Gina Maxwell, both are releasing in late September. But lucky me, I have an ARC of The Dark King! We’re taking a short vacation in August and I have big plans to lay by the pool with a frozen cocktail in hand while I read nonstop.
Best,
The Burger Queen (don’t ask…)

Just want to put in a word for a book I knew nothing about when it popped up on my Kindle recommendations, but after I read it, I put it on my Best of 2022 list: BROKEN PLAY by Alison Rhymes. It’s an excellent novel about a marriage torn apart by infidelity and the hard work it takes to come back from something like that. I know cheating is hard no for many readers, but if you want to read a book that doesn’t take any easy ways out and shows how difficult it is to learn to trust your partner again (or even to ask if it’s worth doing at all), I’d recommend BROKEN PLAY. I couldn’t believe this was Rhymes’s debut book, it’s so well-written. Highly recommended–if you are ok with the subject matter.
