Smexy’s Top Ten–February 10th
10. My Week – it snowed. Boo. Then it all melted. Yay. Riveting, yes? 9. Based on recs from both Brie and Helyce, I read Fallen From Grace by Laura Leone. It didn’t take much persuasion – once they uttered the phrase “male prostitute,” I was in. I enjoyed this book. Ryan was saved off the streets by a woman who then turned him into a high class “escort.” He meets his new neighbor Sara, after being a prostitute for many years. This book has many warm, funny moments, but also some very Continue Reading
Mandi’s Favorite Books of 2011
I’ve about 280 books this year, and it just so happens that 20 of them were five star reads for me. Some of them are books released prior to 2011, but all of them were read this year. Contemporary: Sweet as Sin by Inez Kelley (Review) This book is surprisingly dark with such a tortured hero. He is brutal and not always easy to like, but written so well. The Reluctant Nude by Meg Maguire (Review) This book hit me hard. So many emotions went through me as I read and it is one of Continue Reading
May’s Favorite Books of 2011
This is not a list of all the good books I read this year, not even all the great books I read this year. This is a list of my personal favorite books I read in 2011. I have to admit that I have a very healthy TBR pile, and more “best” reads could very well be lurking in there. Some of my favorite authors are not on this list because I did not read a “best ever I loved it sooo much” book from them this year, which is a bummer. Also disappointing me is that I do not have a lot of strong Continue Reading
Smexy’s Top Ten– Favorite Sex Scenes of 2011
Since this is “SMEXY Books” I feel a favorite sex scene post is important. And fun! After looking over my list, I realize while these have well written sex scenes, I would also recommend each book as a whole. You know for those other things like plot and character development. But back to the sex… Please note that obviously this is more explicit than the normal posts here at Smexy. I’ve listed them by the date they were published this year. By the Book by Scarlett Parrish Continue Reading
Smexy’s Top Ten–November 11th
10. Earlier in the week, a deer hunter fell out of a tree at the end of my street (my street dead-ends at a big wooded area. Also, I live in redneckville). Four fire trucks, three ambulances, police and the medevac helicopter all came. I guess he had a phone, and was able to call 9-1-1. It was dramatic, especially watching the helicopter try to land in this small field on my street. I have no idea how hurt the hunter was, I hope he is okay. My little street can’t handle that type of chaos! Continue Reading

10. Trick or Treating has come and gone and I have to say we had a successful night. My 5 yr old went as an “old man with a walking stick” (his idea!) and my 7 year old was Jack Sparrow. We sneak out of our street (which is dark, and the houses aren’t very close together) and go to a big development near my parents. All the houses do such a nice job decorating and making it very festive for the kids. We had a good time. 9. Gena Showalter has released the cover for Wicked Nights, the Continue Reading
Smexy’s Top Ten–October 14th
10. My Week – I went to the eye dr and learned my right eye is now worse than my left – which means I need to keep track of my contacts when I take them out at night. This doesn’t bode well for me. I’m not known to take very good care of my contacts. But on a positive note – wow, I can see again! 9. Okay, so not the best cover ever but let’s just move on because this is one of my favorite series. Fish & Chips is book three of Madeleine Urban and Abigail Roux’s Cut Continue Reading
Smexy’s Top Ten–October 7th
10. My Week – I decorated for Halloween! Are we getting ready? Do all the kids have costumes picked out? I have a seven year old who is obsessed with scary things and a five year old who cries if there is a mean looking pumpkin. I can’t win. I did buy a plastic hand that crawls across the floor. I may have scarred my five year old for life. We’ll see. 9. Fun news! USA Today has started a romance blog, Happy Ever After. It went live yesterday afternoon. I was asked to be a part of it and I Continue Reading
The Smexy Family is Growing
Tori and I are happy to share with you today that we have two new reviewers starting at Smexy Books! Helyce and May. I’ve been thinking for awhile now about bringing on a new reviewer or two. To keep up with reviews, Tori and I have a very strict reading schedule. Which we are not complaining about, because if we didn’t read every day, we would go insane. We have to read. But at the same time, we get these great recommendations from others, and if the book is not on our Continue Reading
