This was, in general, a terrible book year. I had a record number DNF, WTF, and generally horrendously bad books. From creepy ‘like a father to her’ relationship dynamic to books that were completely unoriginal and everything in between – it was gnarly going out there. So much swinging and missing! The level of “ok I guess” C rated books was also record high for me, and this just really bums me out! Ah, but then I went sifting through the shelves and was pleasantly surprised to find that I Continue Reading

Tori’s Top Books for 2015
2015 was a strange year both personally and professionally. So many good books were published but not a lot wowed me. I know what you’re thinking- ”Dude, you have 24 books listed.” This is true. But I read over 300 new to me books this year, so this doesn’t even represent 10% of what I have read. MATH FTW!! Plus, it’s hard for me to pick. Unless I DNF, there is some aspect I enjoy about every book I read from the ‘wow this is fantastic’ 5 star reads to the ‘what the fresh hell was THAT’ 1 star Continue Reading

May’s 2014 list of Awesomeness
When I sat down to look at all I’ve read and consider what might make my list this year the contenders were few. What I mean is, I didn’t have to cut anything from my list of favorites or make tough calls because this is THE list of A grade books I read this year. There is no new motorcycle badass, tortured lumberjack, wicked werewolf, and sadly no sigh worthy military hero. These are crimes against romance land, and I won’t have it! I demand some smexy tortured loner mountain man with a Continue Reading
Mandi’s Favorite Books of 2014
What makes me happy about my favorite book list this year is that it encompasses so many sub-genres of romance. I think I hit almost every category, and that makes me happy. In no particular order: Rogue Spy by Joanna Bourne - I highly recommend The Forbidden Rose, The Black Hawk and Rogue Spy for fans of historical spy romance. I'll be a Hawker groupie for life. A Bollywood Affair by Sonali Dev - Debut book and I couldn't be more excited to see what this author puts out Continue Reading
Tori’s Best Reads for 2014
Per usual, I had a hard time picking out just a few books that blew me away this year. I LOVED THEM ALL!!! Well, most of them. My qualifications for bestest book EVAH isn’t flawless writing, intense subject matter, or where they fall on best selling lists, but rather the emotions they invoke in me while reading and what I’m left feeling when I’m finished. Push by Claire Wallis-A psychological romantic thriller that addresses the long term emotional and mental damage caused by childhood abuse Continue Reading

Tori: It’s hard for me to do lists like these. I wish I could list all the books I’ve read so far because regardless of any issues or misgivings...there is something I have enjoyed about each and everyone of them. Black Arts by Faith Hunter-A new beginning for Jane Yellowrock which blows the series Continue Reading
