Review: Let’s Talk About Sext by Evie Claire

February 22, 2019 by Kini

I picked this up because I thought it was going to be about a couple who texts/sexts a lot. At least enough to make it in to the title. I was a little disappointed that there wasn’t more texting. There was some, but not as must as I wanted. That is probably me just being nit-picky though. And that is how I roll. While I am talking about the little things in this book that bothered me, I want to mention that the word “girl” was used 63 times. The heroine, Phebe is a ball busting project manager Continue Reading

Angela’s Monday Mornings

Charming as Puck by Pippa GrantContemporary/Romantic ComedyFebruary 1, 2019 Self Published Favorite Quote: "May we someday find men who love us as much as we love each other." Another super sexy, super fun Pippa Grant hockey romance. This time it's Nick's turn to get his HEA and his heroine, Kami, is his sister's best friend. I really liked this couple! Their relationship starts off page sometime in the last few books. So when the book opens Kami and Nick have already started Continue Reading

Review: 99 Percent Mine by Sally Thorne

January 26, 2019 by Kini

The cover does not do justice to this story. It gave me the impression the book would be light and fluffy and that is not the case. This book is so very different from THG and it really worked for me. The first bit of the book was a bit slow for me but then it really picked up. And I could not put it down. I stayed up until 1:30 am reading it. It made a cry a little bit. Darcy Barrett is a sad girl. She isn’t eating properly. She isn’t taking medication for her chronic illness. She Continue Reading

Kini’s Friday Kisses

January 11, 2019 by Kini

The first part of the year hasn’t been great for reading for me. Just a lot of things going on. Nothing Personal by Karina Halle- I really enjoyed some of Halle’s earlier books, but either my reading preferences have changed a lot or she has changed her writing style. This book felt like a bit of a mess to me. I think it was supposed to be funny but I didn’t really find humor in it. The beginning was a bit heavy on calling women skanks (Nova’s ex cheated on her in Vegas with a Continue Reading

Kini’s Friday Kisses

December 28, 2018 by Kini

I didn't get nearly as much reading done in the last week as I wanted to do. I vow to read at least one book over the New Year holiday though. The Accidental Beauty Queen by Teri Wilson- This book had a cute blurb and was described as a cross between The Parent Trap (Lindsay Lohan version is my fave) and Miss Congeniality, which I also enjoyed. Sadly, the book was pretty much a disappointment. The heroine, Charlotte, is a librarian and ends up filling in for her sister in a beauty Continue Reading

Angela’s Monday Mornings

My review of Hailey Edward's Death Knell (Foundling #3) will post later today. What I read this week: My Favorite Half-Night Stand by Christina Lauren Contemporary Romance December 4, 2018 by Gallery Books Favorite Quote: "Unusual? No. She's super funny." Now I'm torn between insult that he doesn't realize that I'm super funny, and swooning that he's talking about me and doesn't even know it. Holy shit, this is both incredibly sweet and incredibly fucking stupid." Friends to lovers is Continue Reading

Angela’s Monday Mornings

What I read this week: Captive Desire by Robin Lovett Planet of Desire #2 Erotic Science Fiction Romance November 19, 2018 by Entangled Publishing Favorite Quote: She is everything. She is all there is. Her body is my universe. For now. I've been reading quite a bit of fantasy/urban fantasy/science fiction romance lately. This might sound weird, but when I feel like everything is a total dumpster fire I want stories that completely sweep me away to another world. Captive Desire is Continue Reading

Review: Cowboy Christmas Jubilee

November 13, 2018 by Mandi

Cowboy Christmas Jubiless by Dylann Crush (Holiday, Texas #2)Released: October 30, 2018Sourcebooks Reviewed by Mandi This is an easy holiday read - not too angsty, not too crazy - just two people who seem like opposites from the outside, falling in love. Jinx is a bartender who flees her drug-dealing ex, and takes money from him that he owes her. She escapes without him knowing, jumps on her motorcycle and plans to start over in New Orleans. She makes it to Holiday, Texas when her Continue Reading

Review: Snowfall on Lighthouse Lane

November 8, 2018 by Helyce

Snowfall on Lighthouse Lane by JoAnn Ross (Honeymoon Harbor #2)Contemporary RomanceReleased: November 1, 2018HQN When I first got back into reading romance, I read a lot of JoAnn Ross. I love her voice, and her stories were ones that I could count on.  Not to say they were cookie cutter, but I trusted that no matter what, it would be a story full of love and even with whatever conflict that occurred, in the end we’d have that HEA. Snowfall on Lighthouse Lane is a second chance romance. Continue Reading
