Happy Monday y'all, hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! What I read this week: To See the Sun by Kelly JensenM/M Sci/Fi RomanceAugust 13, 2018 by Riptide Favorite Quote: "I want to show you everything. One day, I'm going to show you everything." This is probably one of the most low-key science fiction romances I've ever read. I anticipated a whole lot of angsty conflict after reading the first chapter, but.. there really wasn't too much. The Continue Reading
SALE ALERT!! Elle Kennedy’s The Chase is on SALE for Limited Time
The Chase (Briar U, #1) by Elle Kennedy Contemporary Romance/NA August 6, 2018 Berkley Summary Everyone says opposites attract. And they must be right because there’s no logical reason why I’m so drawn to Colin Fitzgerald. I don’t usually go for tattoo-covered, video-gaming, hockey-playing nerd-jocks who think I’m flighty and superficial. His narrow view of me is the first strike against him. It doesn’t help that he’s buddy-buddy with my brother. And that his best friend has a Continue Reading
Helyce’s Thursday Thoughts & Things
Hello! So, last week my family and I ventured north for our annual camping (glamping more like with showers and flushing toilets) trip at a little lake with a group of people who we’ve been doing this little trip with for the last 6 years. The original group was huge-like 35 families and we’d pretty much take over this place; but as kids got older, that group has dwindled down to about 10 families. My kids love the lake, so we’ve stuck it out over the years for them. This year was fun but not Continue Reading
Angela’s Monday Morning Reflections
Hi everyone! I'm new here at Smexy Books, but a lot of you will recognize me from my long tenure (6 years OMG) at Fiction Vixen. Fiction Vixen will be shutting down soon and right when I was deep in the middle of a FV closing depression Mandi asked me to come and join the lovely ladies at Smexy. After my excitement died down a bit, I said ABSOFREAKINLUTELY. So here I am. This post will be short and sweet since I'm still in transition mode, but I plan on reviewing, posting my TBR list and Continue Reading
Sheena’s Wistful/Wanton Wednesday!
Happy Humpday! Today's swoony/smexy quotes hail from Kennedy Kelly's Roomies. Kelly is an author I came across last year and blasted through all of her books; loving her voice as much as I did. Roomies displays Kelly's trademark sexy, angsty drama that I just can't get enough of. Three Roommates. Two Guys. One Love. For Lexi, dodging her roommates' attempt to land her the guy of her dreams isn't easy, especially since those roommates are goofball Travis and Sexy-as-sin Continue Reading

Review: Darkest Night by Megan Erickson
Darkest Night by Megan Erickson (Wired and Dangerous #2) Releases: July 31, 2018 Romantic Suspense Forever Reviewed by Mandi I really enjoyed book one in this series that features a group of hackers/bad asses that want revenge. We learned in book one, that years ago women were kidnapped into an underground sex ring, and the heroine of book one was able to escape before she was abused. But the heroine in this book, Fiona, wasn't rescued for days, and she was drugged and raped. Now Continue Reading
Review: Edge of Nowhere by Felicia Davin
Edge of Nowhere by Felicia Davin (Nowhere #1) Releases: July 31, 2018 M/M Sci-Fi Self Published Reviewed by Mandi This book hooked me right from the beginning, and while it may have slowed down a bit in the middle, I still enjoyed it. Set not too far into the future, there are people in the world called runners, who can walk into this dark, vast, unknown space they call The Nowhere (maybe think of it a little like the Upside Down from Stranger Things). Runners can be anywhere, and in Continue Reading
Helyce’s Thursday Trials
Fellow book lovers, I’m sorry to report that I have nothing new to review today. Last week, my sister was in Las Vegas for a work related seminar. Since she lives on Maui and doesn’t come to the ‘mainland’ very often so I decided to take a few days off and meet up with her. Dreams of lazy days by the pool with an umbrella topped alcoholic beverage and reading for hours and hours while my poor sister was stuck in her seminar was all I could think about. Add to that the fact that she was booked Continue Reading
Sheena’s TBR Tackle!
I know you know what I mean. I know I am not the only reader out there, haunted by the hundreds of thousands of words, on thousands of pages, in the hundreds of books, on my TBR pile that has become my own, personal, little shop of horrors! READ ME SEYMOUR SHEENA!! So while I have some downtime and approaching my vacation, I am determined to tackle my TBR and my goal is to get through these five novels that have been patiently waiting for me to devour them. I can't (won't!) promise Continue Reading
