10. It’s August! School starts this month. Not until the 30th but hey, who’s counting? ME. It’s hot, humid and I’ve eaten one too many of my mother’s salted caramel cupcakes (which are OMG amazing and I need to get the recipe from her and share it with you). 9. Okay folks, take a deep breath. Let’s all hold hands and gather around. The news: Ilona Andrews announced on their blog yesterday that there will not be another Kate Daniels book until 2013. Let’s have a collective SNIFFLE. Kate Continue Reading

Smexy’s Top Ten–April 29th
10. My week – I have no idea what I did this week. I’m so boring it isn’t even funny. I meet my friends for lunch and they ask – what’s new? I just sit there with a little drool coming out the side of my mouth. What do I do? Read a little, tweet a little, scrub a toilet. That’s all I got people. But I do love me ;) 9. I’ve wanted to read a Samantha Kane book for quite some time now. I have her first Brothers In Arms book on my Kindle, but haven’t gotten to it Continue Reading

10. My week – Stay far away from this post. *Sprays Lysol* My kids brought home pink eye over the weekend,,,yay. So as a family we started applying eye drops. And of course the kids eyes cleared up in like five minutes. Hubs took the eye drops and then had an allergic reaction to the medication and woke up the next day with both of his eyes swollen shut. I got cocky (yes, I said “cocky”) after the first day and didn’t keep up with the drops so now I have it again, and it won’t go away. Seriously Continue Reading
Smexy’s Top Ten–March 11th
10. Rainy and cloudy all week – so what did I do? Read three BDSM books. What else is a girl to do? Two I loved, one I didn’t. See below for more. Hubs also turned 33 – he requested oyster stew for dinner. So like a good wife I called his mother and said – hey, make your son oyster stew! Oysters in a cream sauce – I just can’t do it. ;) 9. One of my favorite authors, Ilona Andrews (who writes the Kate Dainels and Edge series) has a new short story out called Of Swine and Roses. I Continue Reading

10. My week – Hubs was in Vegas all week – I know, so unfair. I did sweat a bit because my “boyfriend” Brandon Flowers lives in Vegas. Can’t have the two of them running into each other. And hubs doesn’t act so kindly when I suggest he do a little stalking for me. Oh hubs. And yes, the hot tub is still in our driveway. I don’t even notice it anymore. Sad. 9. Cover Alert! Magic Slays by Ilona Andrews – book five in their Kate Daniels series. I….can’t….wait…for this book!!! I don’t love the Continue Reading
Smexy’s Top Ten – October 8th
10. My week – Hmmm..what did I do this week. I took my MIL to a wine bar for the first time. (for her, not for me..HA!) And I bought tickets to see Brandon Flowers in Atlantic City. It’s a win win for me and the hubs – he loves AC, and I love…well…you know who. ;) Hot tub update - We now realize the brick patio the hot tub is going to be sitting on needs to be supported with concrete. Maybe 2012 we will actually be able to use the thing? 9. Look at this new pretty book coming out in Continue Reading
Interview with Ilona Andrews and Giveaway
I’m very happy to have the husband and wife writing team of Ilona Andrews at Smexy today talking about their newest release and one of my favorite books of the year, Bayou Moon. I was so excited to hear William would be the hero of the second book in your Edge series. William is more of a broken hero, and struggles socially. Did you have his journey planned out from the beginning or did he surprise you in this book? Give us some insight into writing his character. William has been kicked by Continue Reading

Bayou Moon by Ilona Andrews (The Edge #2) September 28, 2010 Urban Fantasy Paperback, 447 Pages Ace Reviewed by Mandi Favorite Quote: Every handsome man had a flaw. It was just her luck that in William’s case that flaw was lunacy. The man was nuts. Cerise Mar lives in the Edge. The Edgers, as they are called, have some magic and are mostly poor and spend their time feuding with Continue Reading
