Whoa, I didn't read nearly as much as I anticipated this year. I read my staple releases, and came across a few new authors and that was kind of...it. I actually did more RE-reading than anything! Maybe 2019 was just meant to be the year of nostalgia for me. Topping my re-read list? Waking the Dragon, Vale of Stars #1 by Juliette Lewis. It is quite possibly my favorite book to read these days! Liar's Game by Eric Jerome Dickey was also a repeat read and is one of my fav if not thee- fav all Continue Reading
Smexy’s November TBR
Angela- November is when I try to begin to close out my reading year, wrap up any ARC reviews I missed in the last few months AND finally get to all those books in my TBR stack that I've been eyeing all year. This month has quite a few great releases that I'm looking forward to and I'm also planning to sneak in some books that I've had on my Kindle for awhile. Slaying Monsters for the Feeble (The Guild Codex: Demonized Book 2) by Annette Marie 11/1- I've enjoyed this author since stumbling Continue Reading
Throwback Thursday- Wild Man by Kristen Ashley
Over the past weekend, I was reminded that Kristen Ashley's new novel, Fast Lane was releasing and a tidal wave of nostalgia hit. Fast as I was able, I got my hands on one of my favorite KA books, from my favorite KA series, Dream Man- none other than Wild Man! After absolutely falling back in love with Tess and Jake/Brock/Slim all over again! While filling the display case in her bakery, the bell over the door sounds and Tessa O'Hara looks up to see the man of her dreams. Within thirty Continue Reading

Smexy’s September TBR
Angela: I have so many books on my TBR this month I don't even have room to list them all. LOL. Lord of the Last Heartbeat by May Peterson 9/2- I saw someone tweet about this book months ago and knew I had to read it. A m/m fantasy romance put out by Carina Press, who quite frankly has published some of my favorite reads in the last few years. Here's a line from the blurb: In a world teeming with mages, ghosts and dark secrets, love blooms between the unlikely pair. But if they are to be Continue Reading
Wistful/Wanton Wednesday: Fire in Her Eyes by Ruby Dixon
Cool cover- check. Post-apocalypticish paranormally romance with strong female lead- check. Ruby Dixon. Checkity, check, check, check! I've so (so!) been looking forward to this book and it did not disappoint. These kind of stories tend to lean heavily on reliable trope: alien male finds his one true human mate, he glowers, she fights it, and by then end we are all swooning. Fire in Her Eyes, turns the tables and the otherworldly Drakoni protagonist is a dangerously protective and Continue Reading
Wistful/Wanton Romance: Bound to the Battle God by Ruby Dixon
Lucky for me, one of my favorite authors has a release schedule that keeps fresh, fun material in my hands on a nearly monthly basis. Lucky for you, I can never wait to come share the latest release and lucky for us, we can all enjoy it together! Best known for her sci-fi, Alien super sexy trope, Ruby Dixon takes on epic fantasy and builds a world that fills the chasm between Gods and Mortals and we see exactly what happens when their worlds collide and they dare fall in Continue Reading
Four reasons to start the Four Horseman series by Laura Thalassa
The Four Horsemen series by Laura Thalassa is all of the sexy, epic fantasy that I've been missing during my most unwanted reading slump. Aside from the occasional highlight (hello, all things Nalini Singh and the always reliable Kennedy Ryan and Ruby Dixon) it's been a rather 'meh' reading year. And then I see this gorgeous cover for War on my timeline, and I'm reminded that I've yet to read book 1, Pestilence of the Four Horseman series, that's been perched on my shelf for months. I knew War Continue Reading
Follow up from Smexy Survey
In late May I posted a survey of sorts to learn more about the Smexy readership and I am thankful for all the responses. As I mentioned the blogging landscape has really changed and continues to change. We can barely keep up! I promised I would respect the privacy of the respondents but I do want to share some very general things that we learned/confirmed. First, y’all really miss the Friday Top Ten. We are going to bring that back. Look for it soon. It might be the Top 5 or Top 8, but it Continue Reading
