Tropes Mandi is Looking for in 2015
Each month, Sophia from Fiction Vixen and I put out a monthly newsletter called, How Many Licks (how many licks does it take to get to the center of a romance hero - or any other way you want to use "lick" and "romance hero" in a sentence) This month, we talked about tropes we are seeking out in 2015 - and in case you don't subscribe to our newsletter, I thought I'd post it here for further discussion. If you would like to subscribe, go here. We do a different topic or highlight a different Continue Reading
Mandi’s Favorite Books of 2014
What makes me happy about my favorite book list this year is that it encompasses so many sub-genres of romance. I think I hit almost every category, and that makes me happy. In no particular order: Rogue Spy by Joanna Bourne - I highly recommend The Forbidden Rose, The Black Hawk and Rogue Spy for fans of historical spy romance. I'll be a Hawker groupie for life. A Bollywood Affair by Sonali Dev - Debut book and I couldn't be more excited to see what this author puts out Continue Reading

Smexy’s Top Ten – August 1st
10. I've never said "yeth" *shifty eyes* 9. Earlier this year I read Indecent...Exposure by Jane O'Reilly (see my smex scene post) and I really enjoyed. It was hot, dirty and awkward. I had kind of forgotten that two more (with different heroes and heroines) were going to be released in this series until Katherine recommended I try book two (thanks Katherine!) These are very short novellas so they are quick reads. Indecent..Proposal was DIRTY FUN. The heroine is very promiscuous, and Continue Reading

Smexy’s Top Ten–December 13th
10. There will be no Christmas miracles in the Smexy household this year. 9. Speaking of Christmas miracles, I enjoyed a contemporary romance featuring a pastor hero called Married for Christmas by Noelle Adams. Let me stress, this book is not an inspirational romance. Recommended by Ruthie Knox, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The hero’s wife died two years ago and in order to be considered for a new pastor position, he needs to be married. His best friend for the past two years aka Continue Reading
Upcoming Books from Serena Bell! Hooray!
Earlier this year I read a novella from Serena Bell in the Strangers on a Train anthology and I remember immediately going to Goodreads to look through her back list. Except, she didn’t have a back list because that novella was her first book. The horror!! So I am so excited to share her soon-to-be released books! We get three stories from her in the next few months. It’s wrong to play favorites, but I’ll confess that Brett Jordan is my favorite hero I’ve written so far. And not just because Continue Reading
Smexy’s Top Ten–August 23rd
10.This has been my FB and Twitter stream all day. I want a gruff, dark Batman..not sure Affleck can pull that off. But either way – we now can call him BATFLECK and is all is right in the world. 9. Jurisha on Twitter yesterday told me to read Aftermath by Cara Dee. After I went to Goodreads and saw my friend Amy read and enjoyed, I plopped down and started reading. And I read it straight through. This is the story of Cameron and Austin, who along with eight other men were kidnapped by Continue Reading
