Mandi’s News: I started 2014 by reading The Countess Conspiracy by Courtney Milan and about fell off my couch from the amount of swooning I did. The heroine is so broken. The hero is so patient and his courtship—HIS COURTSHIP. The romance. *falls off couch again* May will be reviewing this one soon (we have very similar thoughts on it).
I read The Expert’s Guide to Driving a Man Wild by Jessica Clare. The first half – the heroine made me giggle. She is super silly, not professional and the hero is very uptight and serious (and her boss). The second half she became more overbearing and a bit annoying. Still a super hot, sexy book (definitely erotic). Review coming soon.
The Smuggler Wore Silk by Alyssa Alexander disappointed me a bit. I felt there should have been more emphasis on the actual smuggling and spy business. The romance didn’t unfold for me well either. Review coming soon.
Before Jamaica Lane by Samantha Young worked quite well for me – and I was worried because the set-up is that the hero has to teach the heroine aka his BFF how to flirt, kiss and have sex. Then they fall for each other. Samantha Young really makes this work well. Nate is a much lighter, playful hero than her previous ones. The heroine is adorable! Joint review with Tori coming soon.
I’m currently reading The Chocolate Temptation by Laura Florand (slated for a January release but I’m not sure exactly what date). I’m 60% in and having so much fun. Patrick is just SO in love with the heroine. And Sarah is too but she is so scared because it seems like he flirts with everyone. He does – but his true love is Sarah! The sexual tension…oh the tension. The actual sex. And the kitchen scenes – Love this author’s voice.

I am looking forward to Laura Florand’s book. Love this series! Also, Courtney’s book & Samantha’s books are on my list, but I need to get to the beginning of the series first!
