10. Is Thanksgiving really next week? o_O. Which means the week after that is our Breakfast with Santa and trip to the tree farm. *sweats* Must get into holiday mode! Maybe if I dress my pug like the one above, we can get into the Christmas spirit. Also, why is it so easy to make pugs look like idiots? LOLOLOL. 9. The blog, All Things Urban Fantasy (which has a fab new design by the way) is hosting its annual, Cover Art Awards. You can nominate covers from a vareity of different Continue Reading

10. Earlier in the week, a deer hunter fell out of a tree at the end of my street (my street dead-ends at a big wooded area. Also, I live in redneckville). Four fire trucks, three ambulances, police and the medevac helicopter all came. I guess he had a phone, and was able to call 9-1-1. It was dramatic, especially watching the helicopter try to land in this small field on my street. I have no idea how hurt the hunter was, I hope he is okay. My little street can’t handle that type of chaos! Continue Reading

10. Trick or Treating has come and gone and I have to say we had a successful night. My 5 yr old went as an “old man with a walking stick” (his idea!) and my 7 year old was Jack Sparrow. We sneak out of our street (which is dark, and the houses aren’t very close together) and go to a big development near my parents. All the houses do such a nice job decorating and making it very festive for the kids. We had a good time. 9. Gena Showalter has released the cover for Wicked Nights, the Continue Reading

10. My Week – I’m volunteering in the Kindergarten class today. There are 21 kids in the class, which means there will be 20 kids that are not mine staring at me for three hours. This makes me sweaty. 9. Kim Harrison fans! It has been announced that her Hollows Series is being turned into a television show on the CW network! I couldn’t find a ton of details on it, but it sounds like a done deal. Cool! Also out this week, The Hollows Insider, which has tons of stuff about the series. Continue Reading

10. My week - I survived a field trip to Washington, D.C with the second grade class. Besides the very long bus ride to get there, it was really fun. We went to the American History Museum and my seven year old was in heaven. He could have stayed there all day looking at each exhibit. Best of all, I didn’t lose any children! Hooray for me! 9. Men Under the Mistletoe Anthology with Josh Lanyon, Harper Fox, Ava March and K.A. Mitchell. HO HO HO Hookers! Smexy can not wait to read this Continue Reading

10. My Week – I went to the eye dr and learned my right eye is now worse than my left – which means I need to keep track of my contacts when I take them out at night. This doesn’t bode well for me. I’m not known to take very good care of my contacts. But on a positive note – wow, I can see again! 9. Okay, so not the best cover ever but let’s just move on because this is one of my favorite series. Fish & Chips is book three of Madeleine Urban and Abigail Roux’s Cut Continue Reading

10. My Week – I decorated for Halloween! Are we getting ready? Do all the kids have costumes picked out? I have a seven year old who is obsessed with scary things and a five year old who cries if there is a mean looking pumpkin. I can’t win. I did buy a plastic hand that crawls across the floor. I may have scarred my five year old for life. We’ll see. 9. Fun news! USA Today has started a romance blog, Happy Ever After. It went live yesterday afternoon. I was asked to be a part of it and I Continue Reading

10. My Week – I went to my favorite used bookstore this week. It’s always a special treat to go to. It is owned by this very eldery man and last time I went, I dropped off many books, some brand new, some only read once – and he gave me about $.68 cents for the entire bag. I love him so much. LOL. You can find awesome, awesome deals in this store. The above picture is only one aisle of romance books he has. There is another side to it. Heaven. 9. It’s time to gather around Auntie Continue Reading

10. My Week – It’s been rainy here. I’ve been battling crickets and ants all week. I think they are winning so far. I’m ready for the first frost so all the little creatures can disappear until next spring. 9. This has made the rounds of the internet this week, but if you haven’t heard, Halfway to the Grave by Jeaniene Frost (Book one in her Night Huntress series) is now $1.99 on Kindle or Nook. It also includes some brand new Bonus Material. If you have not read Cat and Bones – Continue Reading

10. My Week – Hey, Smexy has a new look! A new template that I hope makes everything look a bit cleaner and is easier to use. A HUGE thank you to Sophia from Fiction Vixen for installing and designing it. If it wasn’t for her, there wouldn’t be much going on at Smexy. I email her things like – “you know that thingy that goes in the side bar – how do I put that in” – and she somehow interprets and does it for me. She is awesome like that. 9. Free book anyone?
